KAMUSTAHANAN SA PAARALAN

KumusTahanan sa Paaralan comes from 3 different Filipino words: kumusta (to say hello), tahan (to stop from crying or be calm), and tahanan (home). Its primary goal is for the teachers to feel as if CTES is their HOME, that we can always count to each other like a FAMILY during good and bad days.

Kamustahanan is done every 3rd week of the month and each level is assigned to facilitate . This is to develop teachers' resourcefulness, cultivate leadership and sustain harmonious relationships.

From the laughter, and shared experiences during KAMUSTAHANAN, I can say that this taught us many things that we will value and use to hone our skills.

PETCHA KUCHA

Cayetano Topacio Elementary School is geared toward molding, inspiring, harnessing the full potential of each learner through its different projects and activities. But when the pandemic hit last March 2020, the whole learning community was challenged on how to continue our call to deliver quality education to our learners. But as the saying goes" the show must go on", so we, the teachers in CTES, find ways how to push. We live and serve with our mantra "SA CAYETANO TOPACIO, may puso, may prinsipyo, may pagbabago!"

The school year started with so many changes – from books to module, classroom to online platforms and blackboard to Jamboard. Parents, guardians and students were all hesitant but as the months goes by, the new became normal.

Submission of outputs is the most common problem discussed during our quarterly report and assessment and to prevent this we conducted home visitation, following the health safety protocols in our community. Doing home visitation during this pandemic is a challenge to the teachers and indeed it takes a HEART to SHAPE a little mind.

Aside from this home visitation, Here are the projects, we conducted in this SY to continue honing the skills, abilities, talents of our learners and teachers.

In connection with the policy and guidelines on " Oplan Kalusugan of DEPED", our school launch

"Project Kalusugan Mo, Sagot Ko " last December 2020. Through the collaborative effort of the teachers,

the beneficiaries receive nutritious food packs, and learned the proper way of consuming it.

The objective of this program is to promote good health, proper hygiene and  wellness among students and parents.

One of the things, we considered in preparations of classes is the implementation of the

safety health protocols, so we initiated the “Project Handa Pasilidad” to ensure that our school follow the IATF's protocol.

PROJECT 3Os stands for “ ONLINE KAMUSTAHAN, OPEN COMMUNICATION, AND ONLINE KUMUSTAHANAN. One of the teachers' burdens in this pandemic is the stress. Stress from coping up to the new education system - platforms, technologies, including paper works. In fact, study shows that stress affects ones' mental health, well being, and performance. That is why our school came up with this ideas.

Online Kamustahan is conducted via online platform. This is to follow up the academic performance and current status of the learners. As well as to recognize the efforts of parents in supporting the school and teaching their child/children with their studies.

Some parents and teachers have difficulty when it comes to communication. That is why Open Communication has been part of this project. It aims to address the problem with regards to their children’s difficulties in studies.

Online Kumustahanan o KumusTahanan sa Paaralan comes from 3 different Filipino words: kumusta (to say hello), tahan (to stop from crying or be calm), and tahanan (home). Its primary goal is for the teachers to feel as if CTES is their HOME, that we can always count to each other like a FAMILY during good and bad days. During the kamustahanan, we recognize the exemplary effort of the most outstanding employee for the month - “ EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH “.

Kumustahanan is done every 3rd week of the month and each level is assigned to facilitate. This is to develop teachers' resourcefulness, cultivate leadership and sustain harmonious relationships.

We believe that the PROJECT 3Os is this years’ best strategy/practice of our school since it has a big impact in our enrolment. Currently, the school registers about 771 enrollees, which is 102% of last school year’s enrolment. It gives motivation to our learners to join in different online activities like singing contest, slogan making and poem recitation.

'tis the season to be jolly! After two years of distance learning, the YES-O RECYCLED LANTERN MAKING CONTEST returns with the theme, "Basura Mo, Iresiklo Natin!".  It aims to showcase different Christmas lanterns made from used plastic bottles, cups, tin cans ( for primary materials ) paper, candy/biscuit wrappers, plastic bags ( for secondary materials ). Hats Off to all the winners and participants!!!
